SYFY Makin' Fat Sci-Fi Content

If you've been around here for a few months you know how excited we are for SYFY's Astrid & Lilly Save the World, starring Jana Morrison and Samantha Aucoin, but the NBC-owned channel is adding another plus size lead character to our screens. 

Reginald the Vampire, based on the Johnny B. Truant "Fat Vampire" book series, stars Jacob Batalon (Spider-Man's Ned) as Reginald, a fat treadmill salesman who gets turned into a Vampire. Not only did the series just wrap filming this week, but the series be on SYFY this summer. Plus, both Amazon and Hulu have picked up streaming rights for international territories, according to Variety.

I haven't yet read the book series - and based on the description listed on GoodReads, I'm afraid I won't like it - but I'm pleased to see more plus size representation on TV, especially when it's on a channel I tend to enjoy.
